This seemed to me like a no brainier. She’s had a lot of bad blows in life and has acted loopy for a long time so this felt plausible. It also I felt was a good way to make her more sympathetic to the viewers. I have always said that the only way to fix Billie is to have her pay for her mistakes, then have her behavior explained, tear her down and then build her back. My hope is that I’ve done all but the last step now. She’s paid for it… dearly, and we now understand why she is how she is. The next step would be to rebuild her… clean slate as it were. But that is another story. Was it too harsh to have her daughter shoot her? Well I didn’t feel so. I felt it was poetic. She needed to ‘die’ in order to be reborn and who better to do that then her biggest mistake. Chelsea: I know people will mostly see her as evil now but that isn’t the case really. Well yes and no. Keep in mind she was raised by Tony for one reason… to be a villain. Then she learns her entire life is a lie and that her mother handed her to that lie and to Tony. That is a lot for a kid to deal with. She has been made to respond to being wronged like this in one way and that is with vengeance. No person raised by Tony would not have shot Billie… IMO of course. I felt there was no other realistic reaction for her. HOWEVER, she also risked her life to save Shawn and helped to bring down Mason. Would an ‘evil’ person do that? I see Chelsea as being a duality. Deep down she is a good person just like Billie is. But she was twisted from birth and has a very dark side to her as well. But remember that what Chelsea has always wanted… was raised believing her mission was… is a family. That hasn’t changed. So it would be IMO interesting to see how things would go for now. Which leads to my next point… they are not gone for good. I love Clancy and Chelsea now. And I feel Billie’s story is just starting. I like where they all could go from here. If this were for real I would have the gone only for a few months to a year max. Why have them gone at all? Well several reasons… I think they need some distance from Bope and the current story. If they don’t have that then they will never IMO come into their own. They need time away to give everyone a breather. Then they come back, Bope is off involved in their own story, and Clancy, Billie, and Chelsea have their own story. It would give that nice intermission that ever story arch needs. But, ultimately I feel characters like Clancy, Billie, and Chelsea are all needed on the show. NEW BLOOD!!! :) I also would never put so much time into developing characters like this and just write them off forever. So they would be back. Lastly a word on Kate. This gal has meddled so much in her kids lives I thought it about time one of them almost die because of it. I haven’t thought much were to go from here on with Kate but I felt she needed to be to blame in part of all this. A mother would know her kid was sick and a mother SHOULD help their child, not hurt them. Kate needed this and needed to hear all Philip and Marlena said. That was all just me venting but I also felt it was good for the plot. So that’s my notes mostly on these last two parts.
