CLUB SOCIAL?
An idea for a club social: I have visited Jelly Stone National Park near Canyon Lake. On Saturday nights they have a chuck wagon dinner and show. The dinner is brisket, potato, beans, apple sauce, and dessert. The show is the English Brothers singing western songs and some comedy. These 4 guys are really good if you like western music (old stuff). Cost is $25 per person and gates open at 6:30 p.m. and dinner is served at 7:30 (on tin plates). Between 6:30 and 7:30 they show black and white Roy Roger movies if you don't want to visit at the table. We could request a table for the club only so we could all sit together - everybody has to reserve their own dinner but I'd bet we can reserve a table. Anyone interested let me know - maybe at the end of March or early April. I've been twice and will go again for a fun family night. Moe

Thanks for the invitation Moe. Laura, Linda, and I, and others have discussed a similiar scenario and we will give this some more thought. We could either have the social for that night or extend the social to a weekend camping trip. Let us hear some feedback runners. We should take advantage of this "Spring" weather we are having. If you have forgotten the sign in code then email the San Marcos Runners Club and we will send it to you again so that you can make post . |

Update on the idea: I went - again - and enjoyed a repeat performance as much this time as the first time. One guy behind us laughed so hard i thought he was going to burst - even had some folks there from U.K (United Kingdom) to see what country music is all about. I'm sure they enjoyed it. The show will change in June - new songs, etc. If anybody is interested reservations are required and you can call: 877-964-3231 to get them. Go only if you like a family show, country music, great yodeling, silly jokes and great brisket on a tin plate. It just fits my likes so that is why i mention it. Moe
