Club Social Visit

For anyone that is interested my wife and I plan on visiting Jelly Stone Park for the Bar - B- Q and English Bros. concert on Saturday - again. It should be a new show so we thought we would check it out. Anyone is welcome to join us. I'll report back on how it was. I know the food is great and so is the music. Nothing like a relaxing evening to beat the heat. Reservations are needed - 877-964-3731. - $25 plus tax.

A side note - my son, Adam, is playing at Cancun Rob's on Hopkins (next to the Yellow Store) Thursday the 24th about 8:00 - if you like Blues he is getting good. His band is called "All in Blues Band" - food at Rob's is also good - hamburgers are very big. No charge but they play for tips so it pays gas money.

I'm not sure how this fits into running but it seems runners require rest periods also after a hard run.

Re: Club Social Visit

Report from Friday: Food was again very good - moist B-B-Q, big potato, apple sauce and ranch beans and chuck wagon coffee if you preferred over iced tea or lemonade. Spice cake for desert. Songs were my type of easy listening country and some funny comedy bits to keep the crowd lose. Some I had heard the last few times I went but I still laughed. Stuck around about 30 minutes after the show talking one on one to the English Brothers - great bunch of cowboys to talk to. Did find out that they perform through October and then take November off and return for a Christmas show in December. Start up again in February. If you have visitors from out of state this is a perfect show to take them to - they will remember Texas in a big way. So far crowds have been from sold out to a couple of dozen folks. Average is around 60 most nights but can seat 140 or so. You need reservations but can call in that day and probably still get them. Just drive to exit 306 (Canyon Lake) on I-35 and head 15 miles west and the park is on the left. Just a mile or less past the Exxon station at the stoplight.
I still think it would be a fun club social to try.
