I am a 55 yeaar old man visiting Rio early january 2006 and would like to know cafes,places men my age can visit.

Bar Maxim's on Avenida Atlantica is a good starting point; on a back street nearby you'll find Corujinha bar ,have a look at the bars page for the exact addresses. Have fun. R

I do agree with Ritchie about the places, Maxim's and Corujinha, you should also try a place in downtown close to the Archs of Lapa called BURACO DA LACRAIA, it is a mix of everything, bar, disco, games room, and many other attractions, you pay one single free and you can drink all night long, the beer and soft drinks are included, it is a nice place where you will find lots of locals, it is not a good idea for you to go there alone!
