to be brutally honest, like everywhere else in the world, a lot depends on how you look. If you look good, things are a bit easier for you.

But I would say stay around Ipanema and Copacabana. First go to the beach - it's a good way to find out about places to go; use that as an excuse to talk to people!

Then go to clubs like Le Boy, Cine Ideal or Dama de Ferro. You could also try bars like Bofetada (after the beach), The Copa or Galeria Cafe a bit later in the evening.

If you still haven't met anyone then head off to the saunas. Sauna Studio 64 is quite popular in Ipanema and Nova Leblon.

The best time to go during the week is right after people leave work about 5pm. Don't forget that saunas that state 'Escorts' are places for guys willing to pay for 'pleasure'.
