My Charlie!
My boyfriend and I are a owner of a beautiful Male Guinea Pig Charlie. Charlie is our "traveling" guinea pig and I take him to work everyday with me and bring him back home, and my boyfriend is a US marine and in 2008 we are moving to Mississippi, and we are planning to take Charlie with us. I have a cage at home for him and a cage at school for him. Charlie is a one of a kind guinea pig he is sooooo happy always ( what we call it ) "Bucking" and jumping around....but when he is on his blanket on our laps he just purrrs away and sometimes just falls asleep, but always looking around and if one of us leaves the room he will follow us with his head. I have a few questions though.....Charlie is a very happy Guinea pig, but very spoiled and very on routine. When I got him Sept11th of last year he was in a cage at Pet Co with another Guinea pig and I could only afford to have 1 at that time. Now I feel that it would be nice to have one more....but dont know how he would react to that, and how I would take the other one to work with me too if we got another one. Please help......any advice would be helpful. Charlie is out of his cage 79% time when at home because he is such a big part of our lives. I dont want to make him unhappy, but I dont want to spoil him to the point we cant another guinea pic. I worked with a teacher last year with a female Guinea pig and Charlie and her loved eachother.....they tried mating but never really kept it going because they would just lay there with one another and just snuggle. Our last play date was last month and they moved away.....we brought Charlie Home and he just hid in his home not even coming out and looking at us through his doorway looking so sad! He is totally fine now, but that day....I was worried and wondered if we should get another. He is a 1yr old male and I am confused if I should get a female or a male. I dont want to breed Charlie and he is not fixed. I would like to keep it that way....because I might breed him when he gets older due to his colors and how his tempter is. Like I said Charlie is our "baby" hahaha he is really my boyfriends bestfriend, and is very happy. But need to know how and what to do to get a new friend for him. He warms up quickly and is a social fly! E-mail me anytime. Your site is awesome and will keep in touch with it to know more about Charlie! Please e-mail me! Thank you so much! Amanda
