I think something is wrong with one of my guinea pigs please help
Alright, I always keep my guinea pigs cages clean, I feed them fresh fruits and vegatables everyday I give them vitamins in the water and hay every day. I take them out and do everything I am supposed to do, all six of my guinea pigs are healthy, but today I picked up my Marley, the first of the Guinea pigs and the father of the three babies I have (Pet store said the female was male so they ended up mating) and I saw something different... when I lifted him up to take him out of the cage two ball things popped out near his privates. They kind of looked like a male humans ball sak. I touched on for a split second to see if it was causing him pain and it started him. I don't know of any small animal vets in my area and I can't find a number online to call, all email, that's how I came across this site. If anyone can help me please do. I love my marley and want to keep him healthy. I read some stuff on diseases online and I don't understand because they use medical terms and they show no pictures. If someone can help me I will take a picture of it and send it to your email so you can help me more. I am really worried about him, I am also worried that if he had this problem when he mated with the girl I have that the boys she gave birth to will have the same problem. Or worse, bob, his cage partner. Any information or numbers I can call would be greatly appreciated. I will check this post daily if not more to see if anything turns up. Thanks |

Hey, Does he ACT like something is wrong? From what I have read that is not uncommon, it is his privates...and they should go back in on their own. My sisters male if you touch his bottom his will come out, and it does look wierd, but it goes back in. If it has came out and STAYS out, you probably are gonna have to get a vet. If not, I wouldnt worry. There are NO vets like that in my area either, but in Tulsa at PETSMART (any other big chain petstore would do) they have a vet IN the store that will look at your animal for you, can be pricy though.
