Tubes for Guineas to play in
The tubes you purchase at the petstore are very pricy, and I found that you can do it yourself for much cheaper. #1 Try this: PVC pipe from the lumber store- it cost around 2-5 for any size you like, and they have shaped ones that the Guinea's love. We like the Y shaped tube, Guineas need the 4" diameter ones, other than that any shape will do #2 Try this: Carpet Roll- when you get new carpet it comes on a 12-15 foot cardboard roll, perfect for lil guineas. We cut ours into 8" lengths, and I used a drill and put holes all thru it (not necessary but they like it). You can LAY them in the cage, they LOVE to nest or play in them, exspecially at bedtime. OR YOU CAN HANG THEM FROM YOUR CAGE. To do this drill a hole at each end of the tube, and attach to wall with ZIP TIES. You hang multiple rolls at DIFFERENT levels in your cage, guines love to explore, they will find them and use them no matter where you place them. |

FORGOT TO ADD: LOCAL CARPET SALES PLACES OFTEN HAVE THESE TUBES LAYING AROUND AND THEY WILL GIVE THEM TO YOU FOR FREE, AS THEY ARE TRASH TO THEM!!! |
