Eureka!

Here I am cruisin the Quad when I reach page 10 and see all those cool guys from Jr. Optimist--Craig--what a hunk! Then all those old guys hoisting a beer with my friend John--the bull runner.

And then I found it. Yes! The Singer sewing machine I used in home economics. There it was with the same dangling thread I once used to sew matching shirts for me and my fella--another hunk named John--so many years ago. Miracle of miracles.

Re: Eureka!

Since you found your sewing machine, could I commission you to sew me a Wilson Hawaiian shirt. That way I could be unique at the reunion in September. Everyone else can buy the cookie cutter shirt they will be offering soon! Ahh, but you and I could create my one of a kind masterpiece shirt similiar to the one sewn for me for the Sadie Hawkins dance while at Wilson. I liked that shirt, even though the buttons were on the wrong side for men!

Re: Re: Eureka!

Wow, I'm honored. If you'd like to see a sample of my work check out the In Memoriam, page 7 on this website. It's the matching shirt I made in high school on my Singer machine. Pretty nifty isn't it?

We'll work on a design and I'll show you my collection of swatches when you're ready!!!

Re: Eureka!

Can't wait to see the unique design you two brilliant, inventive souls might dream up. I'm thinking maybe a confrontation of Bruin Bears and Running Bulls. Because John travels so widely, maybe on the back little flags of all the countries he's visited. As for the buttons, perhaps nice sturdy strips of Velcro, as seniors sometimes have problems with buttons, no matter what side you put them on.

Re: Re: Eureka!

Wonderful suggestions Jeri, especially the velcro idea. Velcro does require a certain amount of caution however. I got some caught in my pony tail one time.

Re: Eureka!

Velcro just might work. While you are at it, put some on the back so I don't slump over in my airplane seat while traveling. It will make me sit up straight and help me avoid that irritating sleep induced flight drool.
Swatches.......have anything in seersucker? Perhaps a nice peach!

Re: Re: Eureka!

I'm sure that 'drooling' business is just a jealous rumor. I don't believe a word of it. But, just in case you're interested, I also sew bibs.

By the way, why don't we have 'spell check' on this site. It takes me hours to check my own spelling before posting. I get so caught up in the dictionary I forget what I wanted to say. Wait a minute, what was I talking about.
