Hi, Class of '63
Sorry I can't join you this year. I am on the board of directors of a nonprofit (Bay Area Ridge Trail Council) that is creating a 500-mile trail around the ridgeline of the San Francisco Bay. So far we have 300 miles of dedicated trail and we have a major event planned for the weekend of September 20th. I am still in charge of the finance and administrative operations of the San Francisco Human Services Agency (a.k.a county welfare agency). We are helping over 120,000 San Franciscans survive in this increasingly-expensive city so I definitely feel good about going to work every day. My wife and I recently celebrated our 22nd anniversary. The second time was the charm. We now have two teen-age daughters and a son in college at UCSD (which are three of the other reasons that I'm still working). My older son (first marriage) is now living with his wife in Redondo Beach where she is a resident in emergency medecine. (He writes and climbs mountains.) I am still an active sailor and runner. This year I participated in my first triathlon (running, biking, kayaking) near Sacramento. Much fun! I will see you at our 50th, if not before. |
