Pupaza Din Tei Iasi
Dear Mr./Mrs. My name is Mircea Andrei, I am 15 years old and I am a counselor of the “Pupaza Din Tei” newspaper, the only paper in Romania written and managed entirely by children with ages between 9 and 14. To experience a little of its universe, I invite you to visit our website www.pupazadintei-iasi.ro, where you will also get the chance to see the latest prints of the paper. “Pupaza Din Tei” first seen the light of day in 1999 with a number of 2000 copies, and, presently, it is edited in 20.000 copies per month. In the editorial staff take part gymnasium students from all of the schools in Iasi (our town). And besides the paper, they also have other kinds of activities(social, ecological, cultural) which always come to support their fellow citizen. Our paper is coordinated by the “Pupaza Din Tei” association, a non-guvernmental , non-benefit organization, which its main goal is the foundation of a system of social integration for the young generation. Unfortunately, in our country, children do not represent a priority to those who have the power to, and should support them. Therefore, we are in the search of similar organisations from abroad, which have greater possibilities than us. In order for our organization to work better we would need technical equipment (computers, printers, scanners, photo cameras, a.s.o). We would also like to find a group of youngsters with whom we could realize experience exchanges, or volunteers to make part of our work team during the school holidays.
