Re: Locomotive #2

The original prime mover was replaced with a Cummins diesel. I was told that the engine was a 250.

The locomotive does have a cab heater and is very comfortable on even the coldest days.

When the engine was constructed by G.E., it was then state-of-the-art in design and utility. It was outfitted with air operated sanders and windshield wipers.

The ditch lights were installed by Cranrail shop crew back around 1999. The addition of a braking system on the cars was added somewhat later and utilizes trailer-truck hardware. This braking system is separate from the locomotives independent brake operation.
