I had exactly this problem - turned out that it was the choke - when pulled out the contact on the choke shorted and blew the fuse - solved by putting insulation tape on the choke ( warning light) terminal!

Thank you, at the mo I had pushed all wiring and it started to work without blowing :) if it starts again I will have a go as that sounds like it may have been the problem

Hi George, just gone out as I pulled the choke out, guess what!! it blew the fuse, I saw a spark, now I am going to put insulation tape on it, do I just put a small bit round the bar, the bit that pulls out?
