Strange problem: can anybody please advise. When I turn off the ignition the engine stops quite slowly, about 4-5 revolutions. Compared to other 2cvs I've owned this is not normal.
I've checked compression on both cylinders, about 140-150 psi on each. On start-up there is no smoke from the exhaust.It is not caused by glowing carbon or such-like because it is the same hot or cold.
This wouldn't bother me except that on the road the car is down on power. On a long incline I have to change down because of lack of power, I have now fitted another engine and this runs up the same hill without a gear-change.
Unfortunately this replacement engine has other problems so I would like to refit the original.
