Rear Drum removal 64 2 cv

Hi am trying to remove rear brake drums on my 64 2cv AM - I have removed 44mm nut and relieved the shoes the drum turns free but will not pull off with puller do I have to knock round i,e unscrew the threaded flange in front of the bearing? From what I have read the drum should just pull off but am at huge torque now with the puller and any further I feel somethings got to give I would appreciate any help or assistance from anyone that may be able help me here Regards Joseph

Re: Rear Drum removal 64 2 cv

You seem to have done all that is necessary, there is no need to undo the bearing retaining ring - that comes off with the drum complete with bearing. It is possible the lower eccentrics upon which the brake shoes pivot becoming seized and preventing the shoes withdrawing sufficiently to release the drum. But more likely that the bearing has become stuck hard on the axle stub. Persistence, some penetrating oil, and some hefty taps with a mallet on the puller head ought to get it shifted. Some heat might help - on the drum around the bearing but not too centralised, spread the flame.
