Can someone please tell me what is the difference between a Razoredge and Greyline? Both seem to have Big Head, Big Chest, and Big Boned. What are the key differences? And then there is a GottiLine. I imagine that must be the same as Greyline, but not sure.
i guess the biggest physical difference is Greyline dogs tend to be bigger than Razor's Edge dogs...this does not at all mean better but bigger...Greyline dogs have more leg on them than razor's edge dogs...Razor's edge dogs tend to be very compact with heavy muscle and nice bone...Greyline dogs being taller are less compact and are more suitable for events such as weight pull but have huge chest and heads....When speaking of Razor's Edge and Greyline, in my view, your talking about the two best lines of pitbulls available...You can't go wrong with either one it's all about preference..Both lines have high drive but on our yard it seems that the greyline/gotti line dogs have a little more...if you want a bigger dog a male greyline dog is the way to go...if you want a more compact look (my personal favorite look) go with Razor's Edge...
For example, look at the size difference between Cannon and Zollo on the males page of our site...Zollo is a lot bigger because of what type of dog he is...People put so much emphasis on size and they don't realize it's all about being structurally correct for whatever line you come from...fortunately both are structurally correct and the only true way to determine who is better is to wait and see what each produces...a sign of a truly great dog is the ability to reproduce or even produce a superior dog than itself
This brings us to Gotti...gotti dogs are greyline dogs who's ancestory traces back to the notorious juan gotti(probably the most famous blue dog that ever lived)...Gotti is a master a reproducing himself and also improving the line....his offspring tend to have huge heads and massive chests...Great dogs if you as me...I love the line...and we have a couple dogs that are either directly from him or trace to him...Also a breeding coming up tracing back to Gotti
Hope i answered your question and thanks for asking...any other questions feel free to ask

Re: Bloodline: Razoredge/Greyline/GottiLine
Thanks alot. That is the best answer I got on that question! It helps alot.
I have a greyline Pup decendant of Gotti, being shipped from the West Coast.
I was looking for a local Breeder in the NYC, NJ, PA area, but couldn't find one until I came across your site. I like your Dogs on this site, I will be contacting you in the near future for a Female Pup.

Re: Bloodline: Razoredge/Greyline/GottiLine
I had a chance to see Viper in person last weekend and he is an awsome looking dog. That would be a sick breeding, with a tight ped to back it up. Let me know if it goes down
Good luck!
Thanks josh...leave some contact info. (email) and i'll definately contact you when we find out who we can take her to...i tried to get viper this passed fall but he was booked...i think remy (from lowjack) and viper are great studs...

Re: Bloodline: Razoredge/Greyline/GottiLine
I also got a chance to see two pups out of Remy and they were no joke. Either way you cant go wrong. My email is alanfoul@yahoo.com. I'm the one that has the male, out of bulldozer.
My pup is 100% greyline. He's a decendent of Camacho and Gotti. I am interested in a Bully Female. I guess Greyline and/or Razors Edge will work. This is something That I will be looking to do in the not so far away future.
oh ok...in that case if i were you i'd be most interested in the dom p. breeding because when you breed the two together it will match up a little better...a razor's edge dog is always nice...but in your case it will be an outcrossing....when you get your male send a pic i would like to see him
hey is it true that those bully pits have been crossed with other breeds to get that size?cause the terrior pits are a lot smaller and dont look nothing like what you have.
there are a lot of lines out here that are questionable as far as the purity of the lines. Some people question Razors Edge but if you read Dave's story on how he started the line its very specific and detailed as to how he created the line we have now. It took many many years of selective breeding to produce the Razor's Edge dogs we have today.

Re: Bloodline: Razoredge/Greyline/GottiLine
Wasssup yall...i was wonderin if i post a pic of my pit, would yall be able to tell if its a razors edge or whatever!?!? Shes a blue fond and her ears lik to stay up =]...thankz...ill post pics by tomorrow
There are characteristics that are common with certain bloodlines, but i'd have to say that you can't be 100% positive on telling what a dog is without his/her paperwork...that is the only reliable and some times not so reliable source.....Either way post your girl up..we'd love to see her....

Re: Bloodline: Razoredge/Greyline/GottiLine
haha...no shes not mixed...my cuzin told me shes full breed blue..but thats all they know, they dont know about razors edge or gottilines..and the ears i dont know why it stands up..she used to live in the house n wen she started living outdoor her ears just started stickin up...as you can see in the indoor pictures her ears are down...but the outdoor pictures her ears are up...its the same with one of her sisters but her brothers ears dont stay up...
Nice looking dog, but she is not a Blue Dog. Blue Dogs usually have a grey coat. Razoredge/Greyline Dogs are bred with Big Heads and Wide Chest. I will post some pics of my dog later, which is a Greyline/RazorsEdge Blue Dog.

Re: Bloodline: Razoredge/Greyline/GottiLine
shes a Full breed blue FAWN, thats why shes that color...out of the whole litter there was only 1 that came out grey
I currently have a 4 month old blue pit with UKC papers and was looking for a female mate for him. I was hoping to get a female pup around May so I can devote my summer training her. What line would you suggest I mate with him...blue/gotti/greyline?
I am no expert on this. But, I know it depends what you are trying to get out of the mating. Are you trying to get a stocky looking dog? If so, then you would mate with a Gotti/Greyline/Razorsedge Dog. Also, you have to look at the Parents of the Dog you are trying to mate to see if it even makes sense. Temperment of the dogs you are mating should be factored in my opinion as well. Before breeding a dog, you should do some research on it. Well known breeders have been breeding for years and years and know what to expect from their matings. My dog is a Year Old. I hope to breed him one day, but I want to learn more about breeding before I take that step.
Hope this helps.

Re: Bloodline: Razoredge/Greyline/GottiLine
mate your boy with a female from the bloodline with the characteristics you want yor litter to have. either way the results will depend on the ancestors of her parents on the feamles pedigree she needs to have famous names that people recognzie on there

Re: Bloodline: Razoredge/Greyline/GottiLine
Q is exactly right...Breed for the qualities and characteristics that you find valuable...It's alot about personal preference....For instance, we love big muscular pits, but we HATE to sacrifice height and drive in order to achieve that goal...We'll probably never have the Biggest pit in the Game but we trying to create the most complete pitbulls....color isn't enough....we've just recently decided to take Jada to Cannon instead of Zollo...Gottiline meets Razors Edge!!!...I can't wait to see the freaks out of this litter......
How did you manage to load your pictures on here? I was trying to post some pictures of my boy, but I can't figure it out.
