In My Humble Opinion... having had the privilege of visiting the 'Cajun Country' of Louisiana MANY times, and having many great friends there, I believe EVERY non-Louisianan member of this Discussion Board should look and listen to this brilliant free video. No strings attached, just free and uninterrupted 45 min. viewing.

If you live there, then this will be no great revelation. If you've visited there and been touched like I have , then we're on the same wavelength , no doubt.
There is no need for us non-Cajuns to diminish our own cultures , it's just that there's always room for a little lagniappe...it broadens the mind and makes us all a little less xenophobic...I think that's how it's spelled!! LOL.
Thanks for this Darryl. I lent my VHS copy to someone and never got it back and have been looking for another copy - glad to know I can still watch it on the web.

hi bryan
the next time i come to l'anse grise, or some other meeting spot, i'll bring a case of beer along and i would love you to tell me some of the inaccuracies and in general your understanding of your clan.
I'll happily drink your beer and talk, but I wouldn't put any more stock in my opinions than Mr. Lomax. But you do need to come back to L'anse Grise, and bring your fiddle and Ms. Buffy.
Yes. I feel Alan's film to be one of the most historically inaccurate of the lot. He makes huge leaps of faith on Cajun connections. The worst has to be the 'hip et taiau' origins. Blah!
But, hey it's better than nothing. Best use of this film seems to be the music, stories, and several shots of the greats tearing it up. just MHO.
