Lyrics request:: Jesse Lege's Hicks Wagon Wheel Special

I'm continually impressed by how fast and how well Marc and others respond to lyrics requests. The above song is on Jesse and Joel's "Live at Glen Echo" CD. It may present more of a challenge . . . Good luck!

Re: Lyrics request:: Jesse Lege's Hicks Wagon Wheel Special

Something like that :

J’ai été (z)à la roue de wagon,
Tout le monde était content.
Elle était avec sa mère,
Moi, j’étais avec ma bière.
( ?????), j’ai été à l’ouvrage.
Je lui demandé pour danser.
Elle m’a dit, “On peut faire un tour,
Mais fais-moi pas la cour.”

J’étais halé, j’étais collé…..
Elle m’a dit j’étais pas bon.
J’va jamais oublier
Ma nuit (z)à la roue de wagon.
On a partis, perdus dans la nuit,
Sa maman était fâchée.
J’va jamais oublier
Ma nuit (z)à la roue de wagon.

The version of D.s. was very useful.

Marc.

Re: Lyrics request:: Jesse Lege's Hicks Wagon Wheel Special

Sounds and looks like Wayne's lyrics. Am I correct?

Re: Lyrics request:: Jesse Lege's Hicks Wagon Wheel Special

Pretty much the same. Jesse just sings what Wayne sang in Night at the Wheel. If anyone has the liner notes for Wayne's CD, I think the lyrics were actually written by Barry Ancelet.

Re: Lyrics request:: Jesse Lege's Hicks Wagon Wheel Special

I just checked on BMI. It was co-written by Wayne and Barry to the tune of Hick's Wagon Wheel.

Re: Lyrics request:: Jesse Lege's Hicks Wagon Wheel Special

Okay, this is SO WEIRD. I had never heard of "Night at the Wheel" before Aaron requested it, had zero interest in it; I made the request for Jesse's "Hicks Wagon Wheel" lyrics (which I've wanted for a long time) as a result of seeing how fast D. and Marc responded to Aaron's request.

And then I find out they are THE SAME LYRICS??!! What are the odds?? That is just too weird.

I'm happy, though. Thanks everyone!
