Another song causing confusion in the band - Bye Bye Mon Neg, by Geno

This song is confusing to me because of the little phrase that comes between each main phrase.

Someone in the band says there's a C chord in this song. I can FORCE a C chord in there with fiddle in my hand, but it didn't come naturally.

Here is what I came up with on their feedback, but if you guys know something, mo bettah:

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
G G G G G C C C
G D D D G G G G

Alternately, I would say:

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
G G G G G G G G
G D D D G G G G

Sorry for bothering yall with this stuff. I think I have it, then the band comes back and says something else, then sometimes they're right, sometimes not. Some of you know this stuff inside out. Appreciate any help.

Thank you sir. That's what the bass player figured out tonight and I didn't think it was right. It was an awkward change if playing walking bass.

Dwight, if you conduct, nothing can go wrong

I didn't always get good marks in conduct.
