Re: Time Lapse Video: Choupique Accordion Build

Amazing! However, it's much more difficult to explain a 3 month lead time after watching. :-)

Re: Time Lapse Video: Choupique Accordion Build

I admire it so much what you builders are doing.
Such beautiful craftmanship with relative simple machines.
And all the knowledge about working with wood, metals, reeds, bellows, paint, glue, springs, screws, ..........
And beside also know things about music, tuning, playing, ......
CHAPEAU for you all

Re: Time Lapse Video: Choupique Accordion Build

I'd like to see him do that with one of Chuck's designs.

Re: Time Lapse Video: Choupique Accordion Build

Very interesting, and well done, with a lot of patience. At every stage you must not forget to keep the camera rolling, and afterwards a lot of cutting and pasting. Amazing! Thanks for posting. The builder has on his Youtube account also an interesting demonstration of tuning the tempered third.
Thanks for posting! I will send it on to the Dutch builder Karel van der Leeuw.

Re: Time Lapse Video: Choupique Accordion Build

Actually i believe it is that fast a process. I once heard that accordion builders take an oath to never deliver a finished accordion before 12 to 18 months to give the appearance of a very intense and complicated process. That way they can keep prices inflated and interest at a maximum.. Just sayin'...

Re: Time Lapse Video: Choupique Accordion Build

" nice but it aint a MARTIN"

And that's a good thing, particularly if it isn't butt jointed; one sure fire way to cut corners and shorten building time.

Nice looking traditional accordeon and sounds excellent.
