Modest as always. But great performance! And I think you are very well able to sing it completely in the high range if you want. Better than me anyway, for I went slightly out of tune on my video. So, no need to "chicken out".
And I love all the those little ornaments you put in. Great playing buddy!
Thanks, Peer! Y'know, I think I CAN sing this one if I practice it a little bit - I just have to be careful. I'm learning there are certain ways to "hold" your throat to keep from having your voice "break". Nobody ever showed me this stuff, though, so I'm having to feel my way around it.
And it just occurs to me that the perfect person to teach Cajun singing is, once again, our best teacher: Chris Miller. I mean, he's choir teacher, for goodness' sake!
Ready to instruct us in yet another area, Chris? How should we behave when we reach the top of our range on these high-pitched Cajun songs so as to avoid embarrassment?
Man.. you hit the hard notes there. You got a good high range for this.
Since Nedro explained the triplets, I'm seeing a lot of them now... You were using them a lot. Boogers.. last day to get this song recorded and no time to experiment. Sigh..
Speaking about Chris, I now realize I never heard him sing on any of his videos! Which is, indeed, remarkable for a choir director! But of course Cajun singing is a different ballgame.
