Wow, y'all are pretty great. This has helped me a lot. The LBR song transcriptions definitely helped me fill in enough gaps to basically complete them. There are still a couple confusing words/phrases. I'll put everything I have, in case someone else stumbles along here looking for these lyrics, and just highlight the parts I'm unsure about still.
J'ai été au bal:
J'ai été au bal hier au soir
Je vas retourner encore à soir
Si l'occasion se présente
Je vas retourner demain au soir
Regardez-donc les jolies filles
Celles-là que j'aime autant
Moi je connais tout l'amour
Que moi j'ai eu pour toi
J'ai été au bal hier au soir
Tout habillé en noir
C'est l'habit que moi j'aime
Pour courtiser ma belle
À la fin petite fille
Quofaire tu/t'es comme ça He pronounces it like "ti" so I can't tell if it's "t'es" or a somewhat Creole version without the être, ie. "to jolie".
Quofaire donc tu veux
T'en venir à la maison
J'ai été au bal hier au soir
Tout habillé en bleu
C'est l'habit que moi j'aime
Pour courtiser la belle
(Il) y a (l')autre/l'autre qui aiment les blondes
Les autres qui aiment les brunes
Moi je suis pas comme fion
Moi je les aime yeah tous les deux
Il m'envoyer:
Pour sept grandes années
Tout j'ai fait c'est traînailler
J'ai gamblé et roulé/bouvé toute ma vie
Asteur c'est le bon jour This sounds about right except I've never heard someone use "bonjour" as an actualy adjective+noun.
Que moi je m'ai réveillé
Moi j'ai vu ma vie j'ai gaspillé
Moi j'ai demandé
À ma chère et ma mère
Quoi je peux faire pour improuver ma vie
C'est là elle m'a dit
Mon nègre, faut dire adieu
Pour quelque'un, quelque'un m'a poussaillé Pretty sure about this one but the phrase seems odd to me.
Le soir je l'ai rencontrée
Moi j'ai vu dans ces yeux
Moi j'ai vu c'est toi il m'a envoyé It sounds like "et" to me both times he sings this phrase but that hardly makes sense.
C'est toi il m'a envoyé
Pour m'aimer et soigner
La balance de ma vie sur la terre
