The following was sent to me via email ~ decided to bump up the post from down in the Board, but check the originals again as I posted another station that streams....
Hi Joan, still can not post on your forum but I am a faithful lurker.
For anyone interested in Cajun music on Sun mornings, KLVI in Beaumont Tx streams a good program from 6:00 to 11:00 am. (KLVI.com) It is hosted by John Lloyd "Tee Bruce" Broussard. He is a pure Cajun in his early to mid 70's and has been in the cajun music field all of his adult life. Has been a producer, professional accordionist, accordion builder (long been out of this and may have got Charley Ortego started in his building (?). He sometime gives some interesting history about the music. He does play some Zydeco and Swamp Pop but mostly Cajun.
You are welcome to share this on the board if you so desire.
Another place that you can find Cajun music on the internet is at live365.com (I hope that is the correct address - if not,you can search for it easily).
Several months ago, the Washington post had an article about this internet site. I immediately went to the site and (as is not unusual) started searching for a whole bunch of things and almost forgot what I went there for in the first place - to find Cajun music. Basically, anybody can create their own "radio station" with their favorite playlists. Anyone can then listen to it. As I remember, I found at least two Cajun programs, but I'm sure there were many more. At that time, I remember that Mick Abed had a program and another was by Dwayne Coots. Depending on the arrangement with live365, there could be a limited selection of songs that plays over and over or you could have your own radio show and play whatever you want to play. The selection was so large and so interesting that I only scratched the surface of what is available.
On one of my detours from looking for Cajun music, I found this one program of Old-Time fiddle music that I liked so much that I could have selected the tunes myself - I felt that I had found a friend!
