CAJUN ACCORDION DISCUSSION GROUP
Can anyone tell me what Cyp and Adam Landrenau are playing on the Youtube vid. The one that's titled 'Cajun Band'. Well, the other one, as well, as far as that goes. I know I've got a version of it somewhere, but it'll take me ages to find it. Thanks, BJ
Call off the dogs - it's Talles de Ronces. Just came to me. BJ
The other one is Allons Danser Colinda.
Thanks Bryan - of course, if I'd had time to listen to it, I would have known that! I've been looking for lyrics to Talles des Ronces. Not in Ye Yaille, Chere , or Ann Savoys book. Unless it goes by a different title? Can anyone help? BJ
The Wafus (or Walfus) Two Step is the same tune.
The Landreneaux Brothers singing somewhere also "Talles des Ronces" It looks a lot like it Talle de ronces Eh, 'tite fille, c'est la primière fois Oh, yé yaille Tu m'as dit que tu m'aimais! Oh, 'tit monde aujourd'hui tu m' fais comme ça! Oh, yé yaille Tu m'as semb' tu m'as quittais Eh, 'tite fille, c'est la primière fois Oh, yé yaille Tu m'as dit tu veux m'quitter! Oh, 'tit monde aujourd'hui tu m' tourne le dos! Oh, yé yaille Moi j' vois pas quei moi j' t'ai fait!
Ron, what version is that from? I listened to the version I have and the youtube version and they both have different lyrics.
Brian, These are the lyrics of the Wafus Two Step by Aldus Roger. Indeed, the Landreneaux have other lyrics.
On Aldus Rogers' CD they spell it Wafus - two step.
I heard or read(on this forum?) that it had something to do with pancakes.
Ah - I thought I had more than one recording of it. Thanks for the lyrics, Ron. I'm impressed by your ear for French. BJ
