Hey folks,
Today,at lunch time, I was playing a few tunes on my new Swallow Bb in the park in front of my building.. A gentleman approached me. He was very impressed with my music and my accordion. He is a Dr in mechanical engineering and teaches mechanical engineering at Dalhousie University.
He invited me to come in to his class in two weeks with my accordion. We will do a presentation on the mechanical aspect of how these things are built.
HELP! Would any of you have any resources that I could print on the mechanisms for Cajun or any diatonic accordion. We need to create some type of brochure....
Merci mes amis!
Re: Help! I need diatonic accordion mechanism specs!
Yahoo has a group called Boxbuilder where you can get all the plans, detailed drawings, all the "How to Do It" stuff. Just get a Yahoo account, if you don't have one, and ask to join the group. Simple.
Re: Help! I need diatonic accordion mechanism specs!
Did you take a look at the movie on youtube.
How to make an accordion, which you show us by yourself.
Maybe you can use that.
On the most schools they have internet and you can show it from youtube.
There's a phrase with a good look on how the flappers are working.
With all those engineers you can do a lot of measuring.
Good luck with the presentation.

That's great guys, thank you very much!
I wasn't able to locate the Yahoo "build a box", but the pictures of John Roger's inside box will certainly help. Merci beaucoup!
