points to ponder

Found link #3 while searching for info on George Fontenot, a Mamou area fiddler I hadnt heard of. Heard a unique version on KRVS this am of la valse de bombocheur he did called "la berouette(sp?)". Also heard a version of La Betaille by the Landreneaus that I hadnt heard before, done with a harmonica and some lyrics not heard in other versions. For those that like the old stuff, KRVS has a show called "demain c'est pas dimanche" with Louis Michot (lost bayou ramblers). They play a lot of old stuff I cant find.

The link #3 has some interesting points on Cajun music and danse, but the last few lines give a pretty profound forecast to a concern that I think is slowly happening.

Re: points to ponder

KRVS is a treasure and with the help of the internet is doing much to spread Cajun music around the world.
