O.T. Gotta have this CD...

New one by Levon Helm from The Band. "Dirt Farmer" is a great CD, with terrific fiddle and some accordion. This is one of the best pieces of music I've heard in a long time. Five stars, check it out...

guitar junction

Tom,
I could only hear some short samples on his website, and there was no accordion I heard. Nice guitar playing (first song reminded me to Dylan's back to the roots solo country blues cd some years ago) and interesting voice. Brings me to this : you as a guitar picker, did you ever hear of Perry Lederman? He must have been (like Marc Silber) a forgotten one?

Re: guitar junction

Nope, fraid I haven't heard of him. Can you tell us more? :- )

Re: Re: guitar junction

That's the problem. I don't know anything about him. Only that he was considered the best fingerpicking guitar player (by the inner circle). Hoped you knew more.

Other Q, more cajun related: was Taj Mahal from LA?

GUS

Taj Mahal not from LA

His real name is Henry Saint Clair Fredericks. He was born in Harlem (New York City).

Re: Taj Mahal not from LA

You mean it?

I once saw a film about the south (LA?) and the soundtrack was his music.
