Tramp on the street

Did not know proper etiquette on where to post this on the thread below. Since it was getting on down a ways I decided to post as a new thread.

If my memory serves me correctly, in the late 40s or early 50s, Roy Acuff did a song by this title. I recall the tune being the same but most if not all the words were different.

At a senile 71 I may be all wet.

Don't know about Roy, but Hank Williams did it. You are correct. The story line is not the same.

Molly O'Day did that song very well. I just love her! She was the female Hank Williams for a few years, late 40s early 50s. Sang very movingly. Tear Drops Falling in the Snow (about Korean veterans), etc.
