external mic installation

I would like to install an external mic to my MARTIN C accordion. It seems that most players have installed a SHURE R65. Does anyone out there have any detailed installation instructions on mounting, as well as the electrical hook up.

Re: external mic installation

George,

There are pro's & con's of every type of mic
installation.

One of the simplest methods is to use a small
condenser mic (like an Audio Technica ATM35) that
used a clothes pin type clip.

It can be clipped to the unattached bellows lock
strap with no alteration to the instrument.

For more information on Shure wiring, you can go
directly the Shure's online homepage & down load
spec sheets for most current & discontinued
products!

You can see what I've done in the past by going here:

Best of luck in your endeavors

Re: external mic installation

If you decide to go with an external Shure mic, I recommend the SM48 over the R65 for EXTERNAL micing.

see.
