Hi Y'all

Nobody seems to know the name of this tune, and if it's a traditional or not .... maybe one of you? Link #3: http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=Yw7u5EdNnFY

Re: name of a tune

Sounds great !!!!
I know that tune and I have more versions.
But I don't know the name.
I'm going to search, but I hope that somebody knows the title and post it.

Re: name of a tune

That actually sounds like a Creole tune that Ed Poullard and Cedric Watson did on their CD. I don't have it handy, and I don't remember the name of it.

Re: Re: name of a tune

This is La Danse de Misère. I first heard it from Bois Sec Ardoin (La Musique Creole). It is also on T-Salé cd "Un autre 'tit bout", and Magnolia Sisters' "Chers amis", in addition to the one Ganey mentioned.

It's cool on the accordion too!

Re: Re: Re: name of a tune

i know it as Untitled Dancetune, by Bois Sec.
Jesse Leger has a nice version too.

Wilfred

Re: Re: Re: name of a tune

On the Cd Cher amis it's called Bois Sec Song.
And also Untitled Dancetune from Bois Sec as Wilfred mentioned before.
I know that our Dutch Cajun Company also play this song.

Re: Re: Re: Re: name of a tune

I don't know the name either, but it's also the first part of a medley (song #3?) on Steve Riley's album Domino. I think that medley is called Hommage à Ed Poullard. Or maybe that Hommage à Ed Poullard is on the Pine Leaf Boys's first album... I can't remember.
