I'm not normally critical but I saw some stupid stuff. Why do you not have 2 NHL'rs on the ice in the final minute of the game? Sorry but that is stupid. No hitting in our end stupid. You think this team would learn. Goalies throwing pucks up the middle, again stupid. Like Jeremy Roenick says "wake up"!!!! It is to easy to be critical sometimes but from Jeff Brick down you idiots need to wake up.
I couldn't beleive that Brick pulled Dionne and Rice in the final minute. You knew Brantford was going to pull their goalie. Not having the power of Rice and Dionne on the ice for this as noted above was stupid.
Maybe the problem is not with the players, maybe, just maybe the problem lies with the coaching staff!! I am sure Rice or Zezel would be able to do a better coaching job than Brick at times.
The Hornets have been out coached a few games this year. I'll bet the players are even wondering why some of them are not and the ice, and some must wonder whay they are at certain times. Having Black and Schmogyi on in the last minute is not too wise. Black is not in game shape and was spent, and Schmogyi is a goal scorer, not a checker or defensive specialist.
But, it is ALWAYS easy to sit back and be the coach in the stands and to rip apart his actions after the fact... BUT, hopefully Brick gets some "thinking" about situations before it is too late.
You are right it does lie with the players but you still have to have the right ones on the ice. 50 seconds put 5 best defensive guys on the ice. It's common sense thats all.
The second last goal was a power play goal with with Rice in the Box(Brantfords PP was great all night). The tieing goal was a mix up between the Tender and Hustler. You could have had anyone on the ice for that one.
I know it has been said a lot lately, but they just have to relax, and keep plugging.
Man I guess the blame has to go somewhere and why not the coaches. Umm guys maybe the players who were playing defense when cambridge was up by 2 goals should of picked up their men and played tight. It is not a difficult thing to do...oh wait that would involve a team keeping up with the like of Brantford speeders Pelton and Vansickle. opps my bad.
