Savoy-Smith Cajun Band: Now and Then
Octa Clark & Hector Duhon: Old Time Cajun Music
Jesse Legé, Joel Savoy & the Cajun Country Revival: The Right Combination
Well, that's a tough one; i can say it varies for me with the time of day, my personal mood, amount of alcoholic beverages taken, the weather, the state of the moon, the seasons, the tides .... just to name a few influences. - Nout
Horace Trahan: Ossun Blues
Jason Frey & Travis Matte: A La Vielle Maniere
Any album by Eddie LeJeune
My thoughts: It's tough because so many others come to mind. The Balfa Brothers Play Traditional Cajun Music; Belton Richard: The Essential Collection; Octa Clark & Hector Duhon: Old Time Cajun Music
Any one of these could be my next two choices. But since this is an accordion forum and I play accordion I'll let the accordion playing tip me over and put Jason Frey and Eddie LeJeune out in front. I love Octa's playing but I love Eddie's too and I think Eddie's vocals are perfect, especially on a D box. Love Belton, but he is more of a blend of cajun and country. Balfa's are everything traditional cajun music should be, but since they are more fiddle oriented and this is an accordion forum, I'll go with more accordion focused albums.

I hadn't heard the new Jesse Lege album but he is another one that is perfect on accordion and vocals.
I listen cajun music since 25 years. My priorities change in due time. At the beginning, I liked « Balfa Brothers play more traditional cajun music”. After it was Savoy-Doucet Cajun Band. Steve Riley also. The last year Les Frères Michot “La Caroline”. Today my favorite, Jesse Legé "The right combination". Tomorrow it will be another one. Difficult classification.
Just the three I have been hearing the most lately:
Acadian All Star Special on Bear Family
Amédé Ardoin (with Denus McGee) on Tompkins Square
Essential Collection of Lawrence Walker on Swallow(finally a collection on cd, came out last December!)
Where can I get that Jason Frey/Courtney Granger ?
I'm ordering this CD from Floyd's today. I'm excited! I have a good feeling this will be my favorite for quite awhile.
Update: Bad news, just got off the phone with Floyd's and they said the company who they get this CD from closed down and Floyd's has run out of copies of this CD. They said there is still a good chance they can get some more copies and they are working on it but the possibility does exist that this CD will no longer be available. They told me to just keep checking back every now and then to see if they were able to get any copies.
This is getting to be a great list. I must add two:
Hommage a Andrew Cormier by Charles Thibodeaux and the Austin Cajun Aces; and untitled without accordion, Linzay Young & Joel Savoy
