I loved his playing style..and enjoyed the LR Devils and often play the CD that Peppy featured on.
He would have made a lot of people happy with his music.
****..don't know why, but I'm reminded of the tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan song " Six Strings Down '..where the line goes;
" Heaven done called another Blues stringer back home'
..just substitute Blues stringer for 'Cajun Musician'
I had the honor of meeting him at Buffalo Jambalaya a few years back and took his accordion class. He was a very giving musician and was very willing to share his talent with us. I will remember him in my prayers. RIP.
A bit of irony, and testament to the fact that musicians leave legacies. Every time I get together with Cory McCauley, I play a "name this tune" song. Saturday afternoon (before I learned of the wreck) I played "Pepe's Waltz", one of my favorite waltzes.
