I need some examples to listen to to get some ideas. We're a minimalist band (guitar, rubboard, accordion), and sometimes the guitar gets to take a lead. I want to hear some examples of playing that will move the dancers.
Not looking for David Doucet. Already know about California Cajun Orchestra.
That's a tough one - guitar solos are few and far between. If I think of any I will let you know.
But even if there were a thousand, why be bound by that? Get your guitar player to play something musical and rhythmic and creative. Cop some fiddle or steel guitar licks maybe.
Audio. I'm not wanting the guitarist to copy someone else. I'm wanting to get a feel for what can be done, and still work, and not cramp anyone's style.
I will be very glad if you can send me audio/video of your stuff with a guitar, I need to have some examples...I imagine country picking style should be use to play cajun acoustic guitar solo?
