Sounds a lot like Bernadette to me.

Johnny Can't Dance!

Sounds more like "Dance all night"

Sounds more like "Dance all night" to me.

Often thought of as "Take off your shoes"
(and throw 'em in the corner)

See Dwight Carrier play it.

Go 30 seconds into video for the accordion.

cut the accordion out of that and paste 'dance all night'

agree with DP..

it is most like 'dance all night'

in fact so similar that that is why no one else recorded this song

what sets it apart is the rest of the band's ensemble playing

but someone could cut the accordion out of that and paste 'dance all night' right in, would fit perfectly

it;s not 'bernadette' - that has only one chord

it's not 'johnny can;t dance' though they are close to each other, same chords

johnny has an A and a B part, dance all night, and this, has only an A

Re: cut the accordion out of that and paste 'dance all night'

He plays two parts/variations. Two parts of Johnny Can't Dance. And it's very slow. And you are right that it is related to Dance All Night which Boozoo played very similarly to Johnny Can't Dance, as he played very similar to "Tell me what you want" and many others. They all sound like variations on the same tune to me. And the tune at the root of all this is Johnny Can't Dance. It is the oldest name to this tune that I know. There will always be different incarnations of the same tune throughout the years. But I know who the "Daddy" of this one is...Johnny!
