Lyrics from Jolie Fille by Bobby Michot

Can anybody help me with the lyrics from Jolie Fille (Track 10) from the Savoy-Michot Cajun Band. The singer in this song is Bobby Michot, in my opinion the one with a real Cajun-voice. Ofcourse he's not the only one, but he's my favorite, but it's not easy to understand/hear what he's singing.

Sorry Ron, I'm not at home. After Xmas.

Marc.

Re: Lyrics from Jolie Fille by Bobby Michot

This is what I can hear. Pretty sure about he first verse, couple not sures on the second verse. He's using a couple of names or place names I don't recognize. Maybe Marc or someone else can fill in my blanks or correct.

Hé, ma jolie fille,
quand moi, j'te rencontré,
ta mam, elle m'as dit, que toi,t'etait canaille.
J'ai vu pour moi meme,
dedans tes chere tit yeuxs
comment ça briller,
que toi t'etait canaille.

Tout les samedi,
si ta vielle femme est pas content,
vien nous joind' le samedi soir,
Oh, pour la bonne bier,
ouais, la bas au ..(?)
(..?acheter?) rester tout le temps glacée,
et 'oir l'agrement (?),
la bas c'ez grand ...(?)

Re: Lyrics from Jolie Fille by Bobby Michot

This is what I hear (but I may be hallucinating):

Oh, tous les samedis
Si ta vieille femme est pas content
Viens nous r'joindre le samedi soir
Oui, là-bas z'au Mystic Lounge (?)
Oh, pour la bonne bière,
ça qu'est restée tout le temps glacée
Moi, j' l'ai vraiment, oui, là-bas chez Grand Vincent (?).

-------------------------

His version with the Mamou Prairie Band is a little different (second verse):

Hé, ma jolie fille,
Quand moi j' t'ai rencontrée
Ta mam, elle m'a dit
Que toi t'étais canaille.
J'ai vu pour moi-même
Dedans tes chers 'tits yeux,
Comment ça brillait,
Que toi t'étais canaille.

Hé, ma jolie fille,
La première fois j' t'ai vue
J'ai commencé à jongler
Combien j'aimerais t'avoir!
Et toi, joli coeur,
Tout le temps tu m'ennuyais
Pour ça moi j'ai dit
Que toi t'étais canaille.

Joyeux Noël !

I think line 7 should be:
Moi, j' l'aime vraiment, oui, là-bas chez Grand Vincent (?).

I think Vincent is a small community in Vermillion parish.
