Re: OT but so tasty...Boudinlink!

The site lists NuNu's in Milton/Youngsville as a winner in some contest. Well, there is also a branch of NuNu's in Maurice. South of Lafayette on HWY167 and turn left at the traffic light in Maurice. It's in the old Will's Grocery store on the left past the school. I got my boudin there everyday last time I was down, in June.

But there are a lot of places where you can't go wrong. Johnson's Boucaniere on St. John Street in Lafayette. An old Eunice institution moved to Lafayette. Very hot! Hebert's in Maurice is good too. Good mix of meat and rice. Depends on what you like. I don't care for the real ricey ones like at Mowata Country Store.

Re: OT but so tasty...Boudinlink!

There's a little store here in the Baton Rouge area in a little community called Galvez.. The little gas station is called Veillon's. The guy that owns it is from Ville Platte. They have the best boudin I've ever eaten. It shames pretty much every one on that list you're talking about.... Their andouille, sausage, and hog head cheese is pretty **** good too. If I could get them to make me a panse I would be in Heaven.

Re: OT but so tasty...Boudinlink!

Thanks for the tip, Christian! I will check out Veillon's next time I am in the area.

Re: OT but so tasty...Boudinlink!

Charlie T's in Breaux Bridge is the choice of New Orleans Chef, Scott Boswell, who won't use another source. Tim Reed of Ville Platte assured me that Guillory's in Pine Prairie is easily the best.

I'll bet you can get as many choices as there are forum members!

Re: OT but so tasty...Boudinlink!

Guillory's used to be good, but since Mr. Guillory doesn't work in the store anymore, it ain't the link it used to be.

Christian, it's a known fact, in La., gas stations have the best food.

Best food in gas stations

Bryan, it's funny you say that, when we drove down to LA last October, my parents and I stoped at a gas station somewhere in Mississipi of the beaten path. We decided to have some fried food (chicken, fish, dried tomatoes - we tasted everything) and it was the best fried food I ever had!

Re: OT but so tasty...Boudinlink!

La Boucanière in Lafayette, and Billeaud's around Breax Bridge. They're both delicious. But I'm sure there's plenty others.

How about a Boudin recipe?

While we're on the subject, does anyone have a recipe for their favorite Boudin? i'd love to try to make some one day...

Re: How about a Boudin recipe?

Oh ho ho! Now, you've done it. Probably as close as you can come to asking about the favorite accordion.

Re: How about a Boudin recipe?

One positive note: Jr. Martin doesn't sell boudin, so we won't have to hear that again.
