Re: Daigle/Frey Affair

I hear similarities between Kindergarten Two Step and Octa Clark's Cajun Exercise on You Can't Go Wrong If You Play it Right. At least the A part.

Madame Atchen by Amede Ardoin sounds to me more like Ta Robe Barré than Manuel's Bar Waltz. Link 1 is La Robe Barré by Bois Sec Ardoin, Link 2 is Manuel's Bar Waltz by Milton (Melton?) Molitor with Austin Pitre's band. Well at least to me. I don't know where the fingers go on the buttons for these songs, but you do.

Re: Daigle/Frey Affair

I didn't put the connection between Madame Atchen and La Robe Barrée til you mentioned that.

Re: Daigle/Frey Affair

Yes, folks in the Midwest call Kindergarten 2-Step the Cajun Exercise by Octa, when they play it.

And I agree with Neal on the La Robe Barre being Madame Atchen. Neal ALWAYS has these songs correct. What a great resource. (Neal, thanks for the Molitor version of Manuel Bar W. I hadn't heard it.)

(The turn of Madame A actually sounds a bit like Manuel Bar turn.)

What fun it is to be on this list!!

Re: Daigle/Frey Affair

Thanks Gene! I could do a lot better if I had the muscle memory you players have. You are the ones who know, for example, that one song is just a two step version of another, which always amazes me!
