OT: Cajun word "parti" in "Blues Du Saoulard"

Braves,

Can anyone enlighten me on the lyrics for
"Blues Du Saoulard"?

The second line goes something like:

"moi je suis parti m'souler"

Which loosely means: "Me, I am leaving drunk" (I think)

But I am unable to find the verb "parti" anywhere.
Some translations indicate that it means "party",
but that can't be right?

Thanks all!

Partir=Leaving. He is going to get drunk.

Aha!

OK, Ganey, thank you for the information!

Re: OT: Cajun word "parti" in "Blues Du Saoulard"

The key is the "m" directly before the "souler", which changes it from "leaving drunk" to "leaving to get my self drunk". Literaly, "inebriate myself".

Y'know, I like the way these Cajuns think!

Hi

"Parti me souler" means, I've gone to get drunk.
Any problem with a translation in thuis song, don't hesitate to send a mail:
