CAJUN ACCORDION DISCUSSION GROUP
Braves, Can anyone enlighten me on the lyrics for "Blues Du Saoulard"? The second line goes something like: "moi je suis parti m'souler" Which loosely means: "Me, I am leaving drunk" (I think) But I am unable to find the verb "parti" anywhere. Some translations indicate that it means "party", but that can't be right? Thanks all! --BN
Partir=Leaving. He is going to get drunk.
Aha! OK, Ganey, thank you for the information! --BN
The key is the "m" directly before the "souler", which changes it from "leaving drunk" to "leaving to get my self drunk". Literaly, "inebriate myself".
Thanks Y'know, I like the way these Cajuns think! --BN
