Alright, Spring is here a month early,so I'm snowed under with work, and Balfa Camp is in one month, so no fancy 3rd position, minor key-change with a double back-flip songs this month, just a relatively simple tune that I was already working on, sort of:
The Creole Stomp
There are plenty of versions of this one running around. I'm working on one that may be the same tune, the "Washington Stomp", on Ray Abshire's "For Old Times Sake"; they sound alike, anyway; someone else will have to tell me for sure . . .
The A part is quite different from the Creole Stomp and the B part is also different but I can hear some similarities to the Creole Stomp at a few places during the B part.
Chances are slim I'll post a video but I'd be happy to play the Creole Stomp for you to record at Balfa if you'd like.
Well Jamey, I hardly played any Cajun music the last month or so. Neither do I know the Creole Stomp.
So: at work! If it wasn't for you, my CA would be gathering dust!!
Thanks, Peer, Jamey, and Randy--by the way--I thought the black and white with the tie was reminiscent of Aldus Roger! (I didn't dress that way just for the video--my work clothes!)--I enjoyed Cameron's version also--but where's everyone else's?
I'm afraid my version might take quite some time, as I'm not much into CA at the moment, and I had never heard the Creole Stomp. But I will keep lurking of course, and maybe I will give it a try later on.
Inspiration enough, thanks to Cameron & Chris!
Might take me a while, too, Chris. I thought I was going to have it easy since I was already working on the "Washington Stomp". Turns out they're not the same - rats! I've got your version to go by now, so at least I have a great place to start.
I haven't done this in a while but I'll try. No, I'm not playing a left handed accordion, my Mac Photo Booth shoots it this way. Anyway, I do a different turn from most versions. Hope you like it.
