A recording session in the old days

In his interview in A. Savoy's book, Joe Falcon tells the story of his first recording session. He mentions that the sound engineers were used to recording only big orchestras in those days. So when they saw only an accordion and a guitar they told him: "That's not enough music".
This little video clip shows the way it was when there was enough music.

nice ! that would have been awesome to have been in the room when those old cajun 78s were cut

Re: A recording session in the old days

It's funny how the mainstream says to people, "it's not right if it's not popular, and arranged as such". Just like the people recording Joe Falcon said "there's not enough music"

It's all about stripping it down to the bones.

thanks for sharing this tidbit, brother!
