the other problem is expense

and you have to have a VERY cooperative sound guy

even if you do your own sound this complicates things a LOT

try finding a mixing board with 2 monitor mixes
you can
but it;s a 16 channel
oh wait
complicated to run
multiple mixes to do
[[more guitar in the fiddle mix, less vocal in the
drum mix, the guitar is too bright in the accordion mix,]
PLUS
that kind of mixer has no effects
or power amps
or speaker EQs
now you have a whole rack of junk that costs $5000 and weighs 300 lbs and won;t fit in a regular car

and still you can;t hear people just trying to TALK to you during a song

or you get to 90% of the bars you get a gig at
the sound guy goes 'what, i have to send another mix to the band?'
sorry, system can;t do that
