lol you are right, cajun music is plenty all sort of"yells"!

I think cajun music can't be cajun music without that typically things...It give some energize to the rhythm and the melody!

I try to make my guitarist do that thing and you can see me in one of my recent first concert video (lacassine special) tell it to him while we are playing, because hen you don't do it, something is missing!

According to me, about the Balfa and some others, this "yells" looks like moaning, especially when they are playing sad waltz, and for others it give dynamism in the music, especially for the 2 step.

To resume, "Yells" are necessary, but you can do it differently, depending on the color you want to give to the melody.
