Song of the month

It seems the song of the month project has dropped off quite a bit and in the wake of Balfa Camp, I'm fired up to learn new ones and this was a great way.

So, I propose we do a waltz for May. How about the Newport Waltz?

For those that don't know of it, The Balfa Brothers and Pine Leaf Boys both did this song.

Re: Song of the month

Actually John, I think we should resuscitate the Creole Stomp - we never got too many vids on it, and it's a relatively easy tune . . .

Why not open it up for both?

Why not post either? (Or both.)

If you've got something that you'd like to share,
I'd say 'Go for it!'

Re: Why not open it up for both?

Hurray for the wise wisdom of Big Nick!

I just finally nailed down the Scott Special and am hammering on the Poullard Special now.

Were I asked for input, I would suggest that the song of the month mostly stick with jam staples to help noobs like me to increase ones collection of songs useful at a jam.

Neither song. Do Wayne Toups' Please Explain.

All the time you guys always have to do some old song, so how about doing a song from 1991? Try to cop it. Bet you'll discover something new and modern for a change. Bb. Catch up to speed.
