Lance,

I think the hardest thing to get is the right “sound”.

There is a difference between playing the correct notes in the right order and developing the musical “pulse”; those sustained, delayed, accented and grace notes that make the music come alive.

Almost all types of music have a unique rhythm but I find the Cajun style illusive, perhaps because I did not grow up listening to it.

Still, when I hear it in the music of Ray Abshire and others, I have to keep trying because I know it is in there somewhere.
