Re: Roland buttons - $7 a piece?????

The last time I spoke with Roland, they didn't even have a part number for FR-18 replacement buttons other than the black pearl color.

However, I noticed that the buttons appeared to be the same as the buttons on the Roland 5 row chromatic. These come in both black and white.

So, I ordered 3 of them to see if they would really work or not. The price at that time was around $3 (which seemed ridiculously overpriced). I got the three buttons and they worked fine, so I went to order more. Suddenly, the price had taken a huge jump for no particular reason.

I did (grudgingly) buy a few more. I would be interested if you can find a better price somewhere. I wonder if there is any way to find out where Roland bought them from. (I am guessing that they didn't make them.)

Re: Roland buttons - $7 a piece?????

I'm suspecting they make them. Can't think of another use for them, or manufacturer who would use them.

They can unscrew easily and be lost though. One fell off the other day, but I saw it and put it back. Now, ever so often, I'll run my finger along the bottom of a key row, so that the buttons will tighten up if loose.
