I was listening to my local station KRVS 88.7 out of Lafayette. They were playing an interview with Chubby Carrier talking to Balfa's daughter. He was telling of how he played the drums when he was 10 with his dad's band. That's all nice and dandy but he made a statement that his dad Roy Carrier would play a 3-row accordion from Gabanelli. He said his dad wanted someone local to make his accordions so Marc Savoy made 3-row accordions for Roy in the 1960's. I never heard of Marc making a 3-row nor anyone in LA making such a thing.
What are your thoughts? Am I wrong?
Re: Chubby Carrier statement on Marc Savoy accordions
Years ago I bought a 25 years box from Rounder and in the box was a Cajun and Zydeco cd(2) and at the cover is a three row. There were some stickers on it with the text "JR ... LOVE", but the accordion looks like a Hohner Club. Between JR and LOVE was the brand name ACADIAN.
It doesn't indicate that there was somebody in LA building three row accordions. The only one who can tell us is Marc Savoy himself.
Re: i;d also like to know how many of these he sold
My opinion is Chubby does not know what he is talking about. Marc probably just slapped his name on accordions. He did years ago from another maker, put his name on someone else's accordions.
Re: i;d also like to know how many of these he sold

marc didn;t make them
i;d still like to know what he actually did do though
