I think that it is pretty safe to say that he does not still make chairs.

Several years ago, I had the same question; so I decided to visit him. With the help of someone at the Erath Police Department, I found his house. I was a bit hesitant about knocking on his door, but the Erath policeman assured me that there would be no problem When my wife and I knocjed on his door, he opened it and invited us to come in. What followed was one of the best three hours I heve ever spent with anyone, but he was not making chairs any more. There didn't seem to be any indication that he actually had any plans to make them again. A lot has happened to him since then, but I don't believe that any of it involves rebuilding his chair operation.

DL's chair building shop burned to the ground about ten-twelve years ago. I don't think he has made a chair since.

He built another shop, but he just uses it to mess around in and for storage.
