Festivals Acadien et Creoles Report

Here's a summary of what I could catch at the festival on Link #2. It's too long for the board, so I've linked to my web site.

Here are the Lafayette Rhythm Devils doing Step It Fast live on Sunday. I got a late start shooting this one, but it's still good stuff.

If the imbedded video doesn't work, use link #3.

Good to see everybody again!

Re: Festivals Acadien et Creoles Report

It was nice getting to talk in person with all the cyber friends again. And finally got to meet Neal Pomea and Chris Miller. Chris is definitely a pleasure to watch play.

Re: Festivals Acadien et Creoles Report

Where did Chris play, Brian? Was his band there??!! BTW, Nedro, I hated to miss it, but money's tight, and I'm planning/hoping to go to Blackpot. Also, I stayed in town to park cars at my house for the Razorback game - but then it rained liked the devil, and I only parked about half as many as usual. Oh well . . .

Re: Festivals Acadien et Creoles Report

I never saw Chris Miller's name on a list anywhere, and I still don't know where he performed.

Jamey, when money's tight, and the Razorbacks are disappointing, you might be better served to park cars at Blackpot! 'Kinda wish I'd waited for Blackpot. Hearing Linzay Young's pitch makes you wanna be there!

Re: Festivals Acadien et Creoles Report

Great band they play at Randol's on Wed nights. Kristi Guillary used to be the accordion player with them.

Re: Festivals Acadien et Creoles Report

Excellent report Ned! I had a good time hanging out with you.

Re: Festivals Acadien et Creoles Report

Chris Miller played accordion for Ellis Vanicor and the Lacassine Playboys at 10:30 Sunday morning at Main Stage (Scene Ma Louisian?) Got to talk to him and all the other band members. Horace Trahan got some sort of day-job that keeps him working all the time, so Chris filled in and did a bang-up job.

Jon M, really enjoyed meeting you and playing with you at the Begnaud House on Friday and again on Sunday for the D. L. Menard tribute. Let me tell you, Dude, you are one wicked player.

Jamie, missed you, Buckwheat.

Bryan & Ned, sorry I missed y'all as well. Too many people and not enough time.

Cain't make Blackpot; got back-to-back gigs. Hope to see a few of you at Balfa in 2013. Have special dispensation from the War Department to attend this year. Fiddle 201 with Al B.

Keep Squeezin'!

Re: Festivals Acadien et Creoles Report

JB, it was great meeting you too! Man, I really enjoyed playing with you and your buddy. Thanks for the compliment, it feels really good to hear that.

Re: Festivals Acadien et Creoles Report

JB,

Sorry we didn't connect. Grab a schwartzbier for me at Wurst Fest, and we'll catch you in the spring.

Re: Festivals Acadien et Creoles Report

I was only there for a short while on Friday, but managed to see Ned, Bryan and Chuck.
