Re: RIP, Bernie David

Bernie was a top notch guy and a really good friend.

He was a character in many respects and always marched to the beat of his own drum. I think my most memorable experience with him was the last gig we played together. It was a pretty posh gig for a bunch of foreign diplomats that were visiting the port authority building here in New Orleans and expected quiet "wine and cheese music" afterward. Bernie thought otherwise. All I can say is that an hour later he had somehow transformed the atmosphere from stuffy suits and business talk to a diplomat from Slovenia dancing with a diplomat from Spain while their aides looked on in shock. That's just the kind of guy he was.

Re: RIP, Bernie David

Sorry for the loss but, just curious....the Mic Mac people were from the northern parts of Maine and up into the Gaspesie penninsula (Que'bec) above New Brunswick. How'd he get mixed with Cajuns from Louisiana?
